Gunnison, Colorado. The Predator who caused the crash landing survives and
activates a distress signal, but is immediately killed by the Predalien. A boy
and his father who are hunting deer see the crash and go to investigate. Both
discover the wreckage of the ship and are shortly impregnated by Facehuggers
that escaped from the damaged vessel.

The distress signal reaches the Predator homeworld, contacting a veteran
hunter. He sees a recording from the Predator’s mask who caused the ship to

Introduction:Alien vs. Predator (also known as AVP) is a motion picture released
in 2004 by 20th Century Fox and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson. It is based
both on several series of Alien vs. Predator comic books published by Dark Horse
Comics and on the Alien and Predator films which spawned the original characters.The
events of Alien vs. Predator are set in 2004 on Earth. As a Predator spacecraft
nears the planet, Earth satellites detect a mysterious heat bloom beneath the
ice of the island Bouvet?ya near Antarctica. Billionaire Charles Bishop Weyland
assembles a team of scientists to investigate the heat source and claim it for

proof of a civilization predating written history and what appears to be a
“sacrificial chamber” filled with dismembered human skeletons. Meanwhile, three
Predators land and kill off the humans at the surface, making their way down to
the pyramid and arriving just as the team unwittingly powers up the structure.
An Alien queen awakens from cryogenic stasis and begins producing eggs, from
which facehuggers hatch and attach themselves to several of the humans.
Chestbursters soon result and quickly grow into adult Aliens. Conflicts erupt
between the Predators, Aliens, and humans, resulting in several deaths.
Unbeknownst to the others, one of the Predators is implanted with an Alien

Introduction:The events of Alien: Resurrection take place two centuries after
the events of Alien3. Ellen Ripley has been cloned on the outer space military
science vessel Auriga using “blood samples from Fiori 16, on ice,” so that the

scientists decide to keep the Ripley clone alive for further study. They raise

her name. She attempts to kill Ripley, believing she may be used to create more
aliens. Call is too late; the adult aliens have already been created and quickly

Wren, one of the ship’s scientists, reveals that the Auriga’s default command in
an emergency situation is to return to Earth. Realizing that this will unleash

Introduction:In deep space the Colonial Marine spaceship Sulaco experiences
an onboard fire and launches an escape pod containing Ellen Ripley, Newt,
Corporal Hicks, and the damaged Bishop android in cryonic stasis. The pod
crashes on Fiorina ‘Fury’ 161, a foundry facility and penal colony inhabited by
all-male former inmates with “double-Y” chromosome patterns. As the inmates
recover the pod’s passengers, an alien facehugger is seen approaching their dog.
Ripley is taken in and awakened by Clemens (Charles Dance), the facility’s
doctor, and learns that she is the only survivor of the crash. Many of the ex-inmates
have embraced an apocalyptic, millenarian religion which forbids sexual
relations, and Ripley is warned that her presence among them may have extremely
disturbing effects.

Suspicious of what caused the escape pod to jettison and what killed her
companions, Ripley demands that Clemens perform an autopsy on Newt. She fears
that Newt may be carrying an alien embryo in her body, though she does not share
this information. No embryo is found in Newt’s body, however, and the colony’s
warden becomes increasingly angered that Ripley’s unusual behavior is agitating
the prisoners. They perform a funeral for Newt and Hicks in which their bodies
are thrown into the facility’s gigantic furnace. In another part of the facility
the dog goes into convulsions and an alien erupts from its body. The alien soon
begins to attack members of the colony, killing several and returning one man to
his former insane state. Ripley tells the warden of her previous encounters with
the aliens and demands that the group hunt it down, but he does not believe her
and informs her that there are no weapons at all in the facility. Their only
hope of protection is the rescue ship being sent for Ripley by the Weyland-Yutani

Introduction:Ellen Ripley, the only survivor of the Weyland-Yutani
Corporation space freighter Nostromo, is rescued and revived after drifting for
57 years in hypersleep. Interviewed before a panel of company executives,

physical evidence of the creature survived the destruction of the Nostromo.
Ripley is informed that LV-426, the ‘planetoid’ where the Nostromo crew first

Between shifts at her new job loading cargo, Ripley is visited by Weyland-Yutani

Psychologically traumatized by her experience, Ripley initially refuses to join
them, but accepts when she realises that the mission will not only restore her

introduced to the Colonial Marines, including the novice Lieutenant Gorman, the

Introduction:The Nostromo, an interstellar commercial towing-vehicle with
a crew of seven, has set out from Thedus to Earth, hauling twenty-million tons
of mineral ore. At the start of the film, the ship’s computer MU-TH-R 182,
simply called “Mother” by the crew, receives an apparently unidentifiable signal
from a moon orbiting a nearby planet, while monitoring the ship’s operations.
The ship drops out of hyperspace, and “Mother” wakes the crew from stasis, so
they can investigate the signal’s origin. With the ore and mining facilities
left in orbit, the tug portion of the Nostromo lands on the moon, suffering
serious damage during the rough landing.

Captain Dallas (Tom Skerritt), Kane (John Hurt) and Lambert (Veronica
Cartwright) leave the ship to investigate the signal. They soon discover a
derelict spacecraft of unknown origin. The group enters the craft, finding the
pilot’s desiccated remains (see Space Jockey). Kane descends into a chamber
beneath the pilot, discovering thousands of leathery eggs protected by a
forcefield. One of the eggs opens, a lifeform inside leaps out, somehow breaks
through the visor of Kane’s spacesuit and attaches itself to his face. Dallas
and Lambert carry the unconscious Kane back to the Nostromo. Ripley (Sigourney
Weaver), the commanding officer in Dallas’s absence, refuses to let them back
onboard, citing quarantine protocol. However, Science Officer Ash (Ian Holm)
disregards Ripley’s decision and lets them in. In the ship’s infirmary Dallas
and Ash attempt to remove the creature from Kane’s face, but they discover they
cannot remove it by force without harming Kane. When they try to cut off one of
its digits, the alien’s highly acidic blood sprays on the floor and burns its
way through several decks of the spaceship. Due to this lethal defense mechanism,
the crew cease from further attempts at removal. Eventually the creature
detaches from Kane’s face on its own, and the crew find it dead. Kane wakes up,
seemingly unharmed.

Introduction:Artificial Intelligence: A.I. is a 2001 science fiction film
co-produced, written, and directed by Steven Spielberg. It was the last project
on which filmmaker Stanley Kubrick worked — he died before the film started
shooting, and Spielberg dedicated the film to him.A.I. was initially inspired by
a very short story by UK science-fiction writer Brian Aldiss, Super-Toys Last
All Summer Long. Kubrick and Aldiss spent years (on and off) attempting to

novelist Bob Shaw was then brought on board for a few months, but he found
Kubrick too demanding. Kubrick turned to another UK science fiction notable, Ian

northern suburbs. The term “8 Mile” therefore represents a barrier that is
difficult to cross.The film begins with Eminem’s character Jimmy “B. Rabbit”
Smith Jr. at a local rap battle emceed by Smith’s friend David “Future” Porter (Mekhi

After the initial scene at the music event, the movie focuses on Jimmy, a
young sheet metal factory worker who is struggling with different aspects of his

relationship with Alex (Brittany Murphy).

As the film progresses, Jimmy comes to realize that his life has remained
largely the same since high school. At first, he considers himself a victim of

begins to take responsibility for the direction of his life and realizes that he
has a large degree of control over how it will go. He begins to question whether
his group of friends, including Future, are holding themselves back from moving
on to bigger things. “All we ever do is talk shit,” he tells them, as they
bicker about the best way to become successful in the music business. With his
onstage choke still fresh in his mind, he appears to decide that he will give up
on or postpone his dream of a music career in favor of devoting more time to his
day job and building a home life. Jimmy’s newfound responsibility becomes
evident to his supervisor at the factory as well. At the beginning of the film,
when Jimmy requests extra shifts, his supervisor laughs at him, but by the end,
Jimmy’s improved attitude and performance earn him the extra work he had wanted.

Jane (Heigl) is the quintessential 'yes person', who also appears to be
forever the bridesmaid and never the bride - having worn the 'runner-up
garment' 27 times. After her younger, model-like sister returns home from
Europe, Jane's world is turned upside down when the love of her life (and
her boss) George (Burns) falls for her sister's somewhat counterfeit charms.
As Jane's affability is tested to the limit with their fledgling romance, a
cynical stranger (Marsden) vies for her affections. There is something about
Katherine Heigl that transcends the tag of habitual romantic comedy
performer, besides being beautiful and talented - and it's that her
naturallly goofy performances shine through, even when headlining the
generic likes of 27 Dresses. Here, her character is hardly original (having
appeared in basically every Matthew McConaughey film for the past decade),
yet the young actress succeeds in injecting that special something into Jane
that engages us, despite her predictable predicament. Sure, the direction is
infinitely bland and wholly uninspired, with the script seemingly ticking
off every cliche in the romantic comedy handbook as it goes along; but 27
Dresses proves that talent can float to the top when initially appearing to
drown in surrounding excrement. Another actor grasping his first real
romantic lead is James Marsden, who charms with a surprisingly pessimistic
character, despite being underwritten to the point of suffocation. We learn
one thing about his past in a throwaway comment that is never touched-on
again, yet it doesn't manage to hurt his noteworthy turn. For all intents
and purposes, this film would have been rendered barely-watchable without
those two, as Ed Burns phones in another performance, and Malin Akerman
draws the shortest end of the stick as the spoilt sister who takes advantage
of her elder sibling's kind-hearted nature. Undemanding romantic comedy
fanatics, will of course, eat all of this up; for the rest of us, there's
the two excellent leads, but not a lot else.

Mathematics genius Ben Campbell dreams of getting into Harvard Med, but if
he doesn't get the $300,000 scholarship, the cash-strapped Ben will see his
dream disappear. Enter MIT professor Micky Rosa (Spacey) – he runs a small
team of college student card-counters who take off for Vegas every weekend
to cash in at the Blackjack tables. With Ben on board, Micky and co. are
confident they'll clean up, but not if Laurence Fishburne's frustrated
casino boss has anything to do with it. When the movie opens, Ben is a
Dudley Do-Right: "I thought there was more to life than just money." He
might be a bit wet, naive and needs to grow up, but that's okay - this is a
movie and we know that he will turn into something else entirely over the
next two hours. He'll also get it on with the sexy Jill Taylor (Bosworth)
and will reach heady heights in neon lights, then hit the lowly-lows before
coming good in the end. That's all fine and well because this is a Hollywood
movie; but it's the blatant, obvious way that 21 hits all those notes that's
the most frustrating aspect of a film that could have been decent enough.
Everything is signposted to such an extent that you'll think you're
Nostradamus by predicting what happens next. Sturgess is fine in his first
lead role, doing what's asked of him without going that extra mile. Spacey
is the biggest disappointment, however, trying his level best to be the
Spacey we all know and love, but he's too peripheral to have much of an
impact. Fishburne suffers the same fate, waiting around until the plot comes
his way - and if your two biggest stars are not firing on all cylinders,
your Good Will Counting film is in trouble.

John Cusack is always worth a look, isn't he? He's one of those actors that
automatically gets you onside the second he steps onscreen. Although Runaway
Jury, Identity and Max saw Cusack try something different, he has for the
most part played it safe - but 1408 sees Cusack take a massive leap out of
his comfort zone and tackle something that tests his acting and physical
capabilities to the limits. In an adaptation of Stephen King's short story,
Cusack plays Mike Enslin, a moderately successful writer who specialises in
debunking paranormal activities. He books into the Dolphin Hotel whose room
1408 has seen a total of 56 deaths and, according to manager Olin (Jackson),
no one has ever lasted more than an hour. Enslin scoffs, but is soon
subjected to relentless psychological terror. Mix Barton Fink with The
Twilight Zone and you've got 1408, a horror whose enjoyment will entirely
rely on your mood when watching: it could be intriguing or downright
ridiculous. Cusack, for the most part the only actor on show, delivers
another sound performance. Even though the knowing nods to old school horror
like Vincent Price and Peter Lorre ("Don't go up there!") are fun and Cusack
knows how silly it is (you can see it on his face), the story deserved a
darker adaptation. It does have a great set-up and the first hour really has
you in its grip, but they didn't know how to finish it and 1408 ends up in
no-man's land.

Introduction:The film follows D’Leh (Steven Strait), a young mammoth
hunter who is the son of a hunter that abandoned the village. Growing up,
his only friends were Tic’ Tic and Evolet, with whom he he falls in love. In
one day during the mammoth herds, D’Leh accidentally kills one mammoth and
is hailed a hero until he tells the truth. At night, a group of raiders come
in and kidnap several of the tribe, including Evolet, who the warlord leader
takes a liking towards. During their travels to save their people, D’Leh
falls into a trap-hole where he finds a trapped Spear-Tooth. Despite being
scared, D’Leh saves the cat by letting it free. D’Leh and Tic’Tic keep on
walking through the desert finding the village of the Naku tribe. Just when
the Naku are about to attack them, the Spear-Tooth appears, but D’Leh
confronts it. Recognizing him as the one who saved it earlier, the tiger
spares him and protects him and Tic’Tic from the tribe. The tribe
acknowledges D’Leh as the fulfiller of the prophecy that someone who speaks
to the Spear-Tooth would appear (and would be their savior). D’Leh also
learns the fate of his father from Nakudu, leader of the Naku. Nakudu had
met his father and learnt the Yagahl’s words (their language) from him.

a reboot of the Bond franchise, establishing a
new timeline and narrative framework not meant
to precede any previous film. This not only
frees the Bond franchise from more than forty
years of continuity to maintain, but allows the
film to show a less experienced and more
vulnerable Bond. The film is set at the
beginning of James Bond’s career as Agent 007,
having earned his license to kill. After
preventing a terrorist attack at the Miami
Airport, Bond falls for Vesper Lynd, the
treasury agent assigned to provide the money he
needs to foil a high-stakes poker tournament
organized by Le Chiffre.

In the opening sequence, James Bond is on
a mission that, if successful, will qualify him
for double-0 status. He goes to Prague and kills
an MI6 section chief, Dryden, who has leaked
classified information, and his ally, Fisher.
Elsewhere, Mr. White serves as a middleman
introducing a banker, Le Chiffre, to a guerrilla
group seeking a safe haven for its funds. Le
Chiffre assures them that there is “no risk in
the portfolio”, but his investments actually
involve considerable risk: he buys shorts on
successful companies and then engineers
terrorist attacks to sink their stock values.
